You'd figure she would eventually move her way up the speed ladder being married to Big Man Run IV & VI Champion Matt Corcoran...and tonight Karyn Corcoran finally broke out of the hubby's running shadow placing second on the women's side of the barn..making her own mark by putting a mild spanking on perennial weekly winner Nicole Brighouse by a mere . 1 second tonight--itwasthiscloseandthetimingcompanydidn'tevenneedpopsyclestickstotime..

.and with this being stated you can be sure that it won't be easy for Karyn in subsequent weeks as Briggy is sure to push it up a notch or two and take it too her..maybe next week at the 2nd annual Somerville Fire Fighters 5Km ...to also be held at the VFW James Logan Post....

And speakin' of the Big Man Run...Al Flanders, renown Masters Champion at the Charles River Regatta popped in to say hello and share in a few holiday beers and sips of Croatian Brandy with friends..Al is also renown for being the Masters Champion at the 1997 Big Man Run II....which in some camps is a far more prestigious title...and a title that will be highly contested in 2003 at Big Man Run VIII "The Return"
